~Eddie Vedder

~ Matt Johnson, The The (The True Happiness, This Way Lies)

Define freedom. I love what Matt Johnson says about freedom. It has the truest meaning that I've ever heard. If you let go from your heart's desire, nothing will bound you anymore.

Life's A Journey, Not A Destination

~ Aerosmith

Sometimes it doesn't matter where you ended up in life. What really matter is what you have done to make it worthwile.

Watch The World Spinning, Gently Out Of Time

~ Out Of Time, Blur

Egypt is down. This is the latest news I heard over and over again this month. I realize then, that it is not just Egypt that is going down. It's also happened in the other countries like Tunisia, Yaman, Jordan, Iran. This even can probably happen in Europe. Countries like Greece is already almost bankrupt. Belgium has no government for months. Strikes in France. Can't help thinking what is going on with our world?

I then remember the phrase, "when the mountains come tumbling down." I think it's from a holy book. Looking at what's happening in the world these days, this must be the meaning of that phrase. The mountains are the rulers of the world. The countries leaders. These day, they are tumbling down.

I Can't Always Be Strong. I Want To Get It Wrong.

~ Ultraviolet, U2

Life is tough. People around you want you to be strong in facing it. They want you to do the right thing in life. If you're honest, doing that is tiring. Once in a while, I cannot stay right either. Sometimes I just wanted to let loose and let things gone wrong. But will you?

Steal Back The Beauty of Rock N' Roll

After all these years, The Rolling Stones had been making good music called Rock N' Roll. Until someday the industry stole the beauty of it. Since then, the world has lost touch of the beauty of Rock N' Roll. Everywhere we hear is just some noisy repeated sound produced with automated electronic devices. They even told the device to play by itself as a loop.

In 1990's, the phenomenon persists. Even worse. But until one day we hear the good old sound of Rock N' Roll back to the stage. It's the hard-to-handle band called The Black Crowes. They are defying all the categories the industry has at that time. On the later album, they also resonate the soulful sound of Rock N' Roll.

The industry has stolen the beauty of Rock N' Roll, and The Black Crowes are stealing it back.

Protest Is Futile. Nothing Seems To Get Through.

~ Driven To Tears, The Police

What we need now is a more creative and independent movement. Try browse your TV channel and you'll see more and more violent demonstration act around the world. But in the end, what did violent protest get you? Nothing. That's exactly the point of the song. So, instead of wasting up your energy on this futile act, why don't we think of other form of movement. At this point, honestly, I don't think the world needs anymore government.

Can I Get A Witness

- The Rolling Stones

At first I have no idea what he's talking about. But later on these days, I got home late from work, all the bosses got mad all day, and what I found at home is no one to share my stories. It happens also when I achieved something, it hurts when no one knows what happened to us.

It's Better When You're Not Alone

Chris Robinson

This life is great, and it's better when you're not alone. When you have wonderful experient, it wouldn't matter if there is no one to share my happiness.
~ Bono

When you need to speak on behalf of your society, your people, say it loud with style. With attitude. So the world would listen to you. Rock n' roll is a good way to carry the good cause to the world's attention. When you're into it, don't just do it for the sake of the fashion of rock n' roll. Do it with good cause.

We Can Be Heroes Just For One Day

~ Jakob Dylan

Just when you thought this day was another shitty one, you then see this opportunity to help others. What would you do? Ah, let them have the same shitty day as you do. Or decide to do something for them to make them please. Do good thing. A little thing. And be a hero even just for this day.

You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise

~ Judas Priest, You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise

You're young, you're wild, and you're free. So many foolishness you made within this age. It all seemed so rightful to do, yet, mostly, you ended up deep in trouble. As a matter of fact, trouble seemed so cool during those times. Girls love the guys who's in trouble and that's the reason you looked for trouble. But, after all those days, what did trouble get you?
~ Kurt Cobain

How many times does your teacher, friend, coach, parent, told you to just be yourself? Even in so many advertising tried to tell you the same thing. But you just don't get it. It's hard to understand what these guys are saying. Until you hear Kurt's words on it.
~ Shanon Hoon, Change

When I got tired of keeping up my dreams, I listened to Shanon Hoon's advice. Then I'm up again not to stop dreaming. It's funny though that Shanon had to die very young. But anyway, I take his advice and go on with this life. There are days that you have your deepest thought broken. Stuck with difficult obstacles that you can't get over with. I listened to this song and get up again.

It's amazing how dreams can keep you alive and go on living. Sometimes when you dream it strong enough, the dream appeared so real that you already feel like living it. That's the time when you won't let go. You won't let any obstacles ruin all the wonderful feeling you had having this dream alive. So keep on dreaming boys, and stay alive.
~ Chris Martin, The Scientist

The advertising of Levi's torn out jeans series said that Life Is Never Easy. Oh, how I agree with that. So I lived this life with that thought in mind. As far as I recall, nobody said it was easy. Nobody said life was easy. But, hey, is there anybody every told me that it will be this hard? Oh, Chris Martin knew it very well. He has spoken my mind.

At some point you know that you will have to struggle hard to fight this life we live in. And when things got worse, what you can do is just to be prepared for the worst. So now you know it that life is this hard. It is this hard. Then be prepared for it. Prepare for the hard life.
~ Rush, Working Man

Hell, I used to get up at five in the morning and get to work at seven. And to make it worst, I finished working at six in the afternoon and get home almost nine in the evening. Yes, two hours on the road. It's really true that I haven't got a living working like that. In fact, I got old while going to work.

If you want to continue living like that, fine. But stop whining about having no life. Because eventually it is your choice. If you want to have a living then get a life. I said that to myself and start to find another job. Actually my dream is to have my own business and be my own boss. But in achieving that dream, I need to find a way. And one way I know to achieve it is to be a working man. It's okay I guess. As long as I know what I'm doing and I know where I am getting to.

No. Life is not all about working. You have the right to socializing, make friends, play, traveling, and do more things that you like. You have a dream to achieve and working is just the way to get you there. So, try to find a new job or start your own business. It's hard I know. But it is harder to get up at seven and go to work at nine having got no living and working all the time.
~ Bon Jovi, Save the World

I got my diploma, start working with a small company, and later got my degree in the finest university. And where am I now? Still working from eight to four for other institution, get my salary everymonth just to pay the bills. So I guess Bon Jovi is right. You don't have to go to the finest school and spent much of your money (or your parent's money) just to work eight to five to pay your monthly bills. You still don't get any richer than that.

I heard that someone so successful like Robert Kiyosaki also tell you not to go to school. As a matter of fact, you will learn real knowledge and real skill from the real life. Not at school. Even advertising guru Paul Arden also said that you'd better go to work than going to school. But, he said, if you don't know what to do, okay, then go to college. The thing is, in the real life, it's not your degree that determines how successful you'd become. It's your own sweat that does.

I say, if you are lucky enough to go to finest university and get a degree, it's great. Use that oportunity as best as you could. But you should remember what Bon Jovi told you, it's the sweat on your old collar, your hard work, that's your real Ph.D. I will (remember it).
~ The Rolling Stones

Again, Paul Arden in his book said that, Wish, is something like oh, would it be nice if... That is a wish. While a Want, is if you want it strong enough, you will squeeze your last drop of sweat to get it realized. But it's not always working. Mick Jagger knew it.

So, if you really want something and tried hard to make it happen but it didn't, don't worry. It happened all the time to all people in this world. The Rolling Stones had eased our mind of it. Though, if you realy tried hard enough, sometimes you will still get something. It might not be what you want at the first time, but it most probably will be the one you need. Okay, so what is a Need?

I haven't read this in Paul Arden's book, but I guess a need is something that you didn't think you want at the first time, but actually, if it is realized, if you get it, than it will make your life goes on.
Some quotes from the Stones’ guitar god are woven in, but some of these appear again later the book—e.g., Commandment 17: “Be Tough, Be Brave, and Don’t Give in to the Dictates of Authority” opens with a quote: “Ever since I left school, nobody has ever heard a ‘Yes sir’ from me. Apart from a few exceptions: in court and in jail.” It appears again in the section entitled “Aphorisms for Living Life the Keith Richards Way,” under “Authority.” It seems in such places that West is trying to maximize a surprisingly thin collection of materials, and the repetition almost convinced me to close the book and put on Sticky Fingers instead.

Keith Richards' Advice For "The B***h" Amy Winehouse

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has offered troubled singer Amy Winehouse some free advice on kicking the drug habit.

"She should get her act together," the former junkie said during a round-table interview at the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday to promote Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary "Shine a Light."

The often-addled rocker paused, then added: "Apart from that, I have got nothing to say to the b****."

Winehouse, 24, entered a London rehab clinic last month in hopes of kicking a destructive habit that has overshadowed her promising career.

Stones frontman Mick Jagger, himself no stranger to pharmaceutical experimentation and resulting legal troubles, compared the drug problems of the present generation of Brit rock stars, such as Winehouse and Pete Doherty, to his early days when drugs became an integral part of the pop music scene.

"When we were experimenting with drugs, little was known about the effects," Jagger said. "In our time there were no rehab centers like today. Anyway, I did not know about them."
